Fwd: Remembering
Letters to Perfectionism #185
Dear Perfectionism,
There’s a thing I’ve noticed about. I wonder if it’s true for other people like us…
Sometimes I’m the perfect human I wish I was - if all our improving and trying was complete.
And I’m not being an arrogant d*ck about it either. 🍆
Just playful, open-hearted, flawed, strong, grounded, humble, sharp. And in a really freaky way - I’m not even trying. It feels clean and effortless - like remembering myself.
But only in certain contexts - under certain conditions.
👑 Like when I’m leading an improv group. Or coaching another Perfectionist. It’s if I’m alone or in relationship - that’s when things get complicated.
I think it has something to do with the what, who, where, why, how. The role I’m in - professional or personal. The setting: group, one-to-one or solo. 🤨
That raises an important question - if it is remembering, there’s surely no need to add, learn, perfect, fix or solve anything.
Which puts you out of a job… 😉
Love, Chris x
